Pulse Polls: Affordable Housing and the American Public

Each year, NAHRO commissions a leading polling firm to conduct a poll concerning housing issues. The poll results for 2011 showed that safe, affordable housing is a high priority for Americans and almost half of the respondents answered that they have been affected by the economic conditions in the United States. A disturbing, but not altogether surprising, figure of 42 percent of respondents have either lost their home or required some sort of housing assistance due to a change in economic housing needs which illustrates the magnitude of the housing crisis within the country.
